Simple Makeup Tips For Video To Enhance The Face
Here are my simple makeup tips for video to enhance the face. There is a difference between how to do makeup for photos and videos and I’ll explain why in this post.

Why is makeup for video different to photo?
The key difference is movement. In videos, you are moving around, talking, expressive and animated, so the makeup should be long-lasting and draw the viewer in to keep their attention for a longer period of time.
As a result of the movement in video, light reflects on the face from various angles, and by enhancing the right parts of the face, you be more captivating to engage the audience.
Most video content and meetings tend to be more laidback and casual, so it’s better to stick to a more natural makeup style.
Makeup in photos tends to be heavier and glamorous by virtue of the medium. It’s also a lot more forgiving because it’s a snapshot in time and you can get away with heavier application (and some editing haha).
Makeup tips for video to enhance the face
Make sure the base makeup (foundation & concealer) matches the body well. In video, more of your body can be seen, so you want to make sure everything is the same color.
Set the face with loose powder and/or setting spray, so the makeup is long-lasting and doesn’t crease easily due to movement, speaking and facial expressions.
Wear blush and lipstick in a matching rosy tone to brighten up the face and add a healthy glow all over.
Use highlighter on the bridge of the nose and cheekbones to add more dimension and movement when light reflects on the face.
Apply black mascara to the upper lash line in upwards and outwards motions to emphasize the eyes and appear more awake.
Smudge a neutral brown eyeshadow on the lower lash line to counteract any dark circles. This helps open up the eyes.
