Raves About My Faves Vol.2
I wrote my previous Raves About My Faves Vol.1 a few months ago. In keeping with the theme — I want to make this post easy, fun and useful.
Here’s a list of a few products that I’ve been loving lately and let me tell you why.
Beauty
SEPHORA COLLECTION – High Coverage Concealer (Shade: 31 Almond)
I bought this concealer on a whim while holidaying in Europe last summer because a few beauty bloggers talked about how good and affordable it is, so I decided to give it a try. And I’m a fan but not in the way you might expect. I like using this concealer as an everyday foundation! The formula is so light and thin that it feels like I’m not wearing anything at all when the concealer is all blended in and set with a little loose powder, making it perfect for Bangkok’s hot and humid summer season. It works really to quickly and easily even out my skin tone and cover up scars — especially on my cheek area — without looking or feeling cakey. And the coverage is incredible, leaving the skin looking healthy and flawless. The shade 31 Almond is a perfect match for my skin tone. I did also try this concealer under my eyes but the shade is too light and yellow so I might buy the concealer in a more peachy tone to help colour correct and conceal better. At a 600 baht price point, the Sephora Collection High Coverage Concealer is definitely a great dupe for high-end foundations and concealers and the shade range is pretty good too.

TATCHA – Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil 150ml
After doing a deep dive into Korean skincare and learning more about all the steps, I decided to make double cleansing (using an oil cleanser followed by a foam / gel cleanser) a regular step in my nighttime routine to help with my acne prone skin. Given that I do have oily and acne prone skin, I never even seriously considered using an oil cleanser — why would I add more oil to my already troubled skin? Well, after trying the double cleanse method for a few months, I can say with conviction it has been a game changer for me. My skin feels supple, hydrated and super clean every day. I have been using the TATCHA Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil every night for almost two months now and I really like it. It works well to cleanse skin and remove makeup and doesn’t leave it feeling dry or stripped. And it’s so easy to use: I take 1-2 pumps of the cleansing oil in my palms and massage it into my skin, add some water to let it emulsify, and massage a bit more and then rinse off with water followed by a gel cleanser. What I really like about this cleansing oil is that I don’t have to use a cotton pad with it (time saver and eco-friendly!) and it doesn’t clog my pores at all. My skin always feels nourished and clear after. It is extremely lightweight and comfortable. Tatcha is an upscale brand and the expensive price points on the products reflect this. But I chose to invest in this cleanser (price: 1,640 baht) because doing an oil cleanse is an important skincare step that I believe requires a good quality product. Not to mention that this 150 ml bottle is going to last me a long, long time.

Decathlon Thailand – Pilates Comfort Mat, Size Large 190cmx70cmx20mm – Black
This pilates mat from Decathlon Thailand (price: 850 baht) is my new fitness BFF. I talked about why I love it so much in a recent post but I’m here to rave about it again. The Pilates Comfort Mat is about 2cm thick (about four times thicker than a yoga mat) and it is so comfy and supportive for my body to workout on, especially for my back and knees. So if you’re like me and have weak or achy joints, then maybe investing in a thicker mat is the way to go. One thing to note is it is significantly heavier than a yoga mat and harder to carry so I recommend this for home use only.
Potty training step and seat from Lazada
If you are thinking about potty training your little one, this product is an absolute must-have. This plastic potty step and seat from Lazada (it doesn’t have a brand name) is amazing and super affordable priced at approximately 400 baht! It’s very easy and straightforward to set up and use. It is also extremely sturdy. There are two options for the step level and the seat part has a thick cushion so kids can easily and comfortably sit and wait for longer periods, if needed. My son (approx. 2.5 years old) really likes that he can independently climb up and down and sit on the pot; I think it’s helping a lot with his confidence to use the toilet. And here’s what I love the most about this step and seat: my back is not aching anymore from lifting my son on and off the toilet multiple times a day. It’s a no-brainer, just get it if you’re even thinking about potty training anytime soon!
