Great Vegetarian Brunch Options in Downtown Bangkok (Sukhumvit) You Don’t Want To Miss

If you’re looking for vegetarian-friendly brunch options in downtown Bangkok, then you’ve come to the right place. I love brunch. Here are my favorite restaurants with great options for vegetarian brunch food in Bangkok. Make reservations in advance as these places fill up quickly, especially on the weekend and peak times.

FYI The menus at other branch locations may vary.

Vegetarian brunch options in Phrom Phong

Chu

A townhouse converted into a cafe with a garden, Chu is warm and wholesome spot to enjoy all-day brunch and breakfast. The decor is an interesting fusion of homely yet eclectic with bright pops of yellow and blue contrasted with the deep brown wooden furniture. Chu is the ideal spot for a quick coffee with friends or a leisurely family brunch — the choice is yours.

The menu is huge and has something for everyone. Don’t miss out on the hot chocolate and brownies that Chu is known for.

Top vegetarian picks: Avocado Toast, Cheddar Cheese Omelet, Belgian Waffle, Greek Yogurt Bowl, and Whipped Ricotta Tomato Toast.

Located in a small lane in Sukhumvit Soi 31, it is easily accessible by BTS skytrain (get off at Phrom Phong station and walk about 10-15 minutes) or by car / taxi. Parking is limited.

Kay’s Sukhumvit 49

If you like a brunch with a vibe, elevated food and delicious cocktails, then Kay’s is the place for you. Minimalist interiors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and shrouded by trees and plants from all sides on the outside, Kay’s feels like an oasis right in the heart of the city. It’s perfect for a boozy brunch with friends.

The menu offers brunch staples like Eggs Florentine, Avocado Toast, and Granola bowls. What you have to try is Kay’s Toasts, which is the restaurant’s signature bread — soft like butter on the inside and crisp on the edges — with different toppings (like a savory French toast).

Located in Sukhumvit Soi 49, it is easily accessible by BTS skytrain (get off at Phrom Phong or Thong Lo station and walk about 10-15 minutes) or by car / taxi. Parking is limited.

Gigi Dining Hall & Bar

Eclectic, quirky and relaxed, Gigi Dining Hall & Bar offers a wide variety of Italian food including vegan and gluten-free options and cocktails (I’m partial to the Aperol Spritz). The restaurant is spacious with options to sit indoors or outdoors, making it the perfect place to go with medium to large groups.

What makes Gigi a go-to option is that it caters to all kinds of dining experiences from languorous brunches to upbeat dinners with a DJ in the background.

Top vegetarian picks: Cauliflower Power, Panzanella, Papardelle Rosa, Fusillio Arrabiata, and Hot Broc side dish.

Located in Sukhumvit Soi 45, it is easily accessible by BTS skytrain (get off at Phrom Phong or Thong Lo station and walk about 10-15 minutes) or by car / taxi. Parking is limited.

Gigi also has a smaller Italian-inspired cafe called Gigi Eatery located in Asok and Ekkamai.

Vegetarian brunch options in Thonglor

Herringbone

A cozy cafe located in the lobby of the trendy Volve Hotel in Thonglor, Herringbone has a fusion menu featuring classic brunch favorites such as French Toast, Eggs Florentine, and Eggs Royale as well as brunch dishes inspired from Asian cultures such as Vietnamese Banh Mi and Indonesian Mee Goreng (ask to make it vegetarian).

Herringbone has a pet-friendly outside seating area artistically decorated with cascading plants and a comfortable, relaxed inside area with armchairs and tables. Giant class windows with sunlight streaming in coupled with the natural greenery from outside, create a calm and bright vibe to dine in.

Located in Sukhumvit Soi 53, it is easily accessible by BTS skytrain at Thong Lo station and a 5-minute walk. Parking is limited.

Toby’s on Sukhumvit 38

Classic Australian-inspired brunch and coffee. Toby’s is an institution on Bangkok’s brunch scene (and one of my favorite brunch spots!) with mouth-watering dishes such as Complicated Avocado, Crispy French Toast and Granola bowl.

The vibe is chic and minimal. It’s a great spot for couples or a small group of 4 or less. Enjoy a full-on brunch or simply stop by for a mid-afternoon coffee pick-me-up, Toby’s is warm and inviting. There is indoor and outdoor (pet-friendly) seating.

Located in Sukhumvit Soi 38, it is easily accessible by BTS skytrain at Thong Lo station and a 10-minute walk. Street parking is available (ask the staff for more details).

Other branches: Toby’s at Sala Daeng, Toby’s at Noble Play Ploenchit

Vegetarian brunch options in Ekkamai

Babyccino

Babyccino is a cult favorite for many locals and tourists alike. There is always a line in front of the cafe and the tables are small, so ideal for groups of 4 or less. Definitely make a reservation and try to go at off-peak times such as weekday mornings or late afternoons.

The interiors are warm with sunlight illuminating the whole place while on the outside is a koi pond, pebble path and beautiful trees, creating a Japanese garden-like effect.

Come to Babyccino with an appetite because the food is decadent, elevated and scrumptious and will leave you in a ‘food coma’. Enjoy unique fusion dishes such as the Crispy Kimchi Veggie Burrito; Truffle Scrambled Egg in Brioche Bun; and Miso Glazed Cauliflower with Kale. The menu offers small apps, pasta and pizza. Plenty of vegetarian options.

You have to save space for dessert — try the Classic Vanilla French Toast, Half Baked Cookie Bowl, and signature Babyccino drink.

Located in Ekkamai Soi 12, it is easily accessible by car / taxi. Parking is available.

Other branches: Babyccino at Siam Discovery Ground Floor.

Kaizen Specialty Coffee & Cafe

A hidden gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Sukhumvit main road, Kaizen Specialty Coffee & Cafe offers an all-day breakfast menu with incredible coffee.

The food is inspired by Australian brunch fare with some fun flavor twists such as the Figs and Avocado Toast and Tomato, Avocado and Feta Cream Toast. If you like sourdough bread, then you’re going to love the Kaizen menu. Pasta, salads and granola bowls are also available.

You have to try the coffee — it is rich in flavor and smooth in texture.

Kaizen has sleek, minimalist decor with large windows and lots of natural light. The cafe is best suited to small groups no larger than 6.

Located at C Ekamai Condo, it is easily accessible by car / taxi. Parking is available.

Other branches: Kaizen Coffee at Sukhumvit 49
