How To Create An Easy Smudgy Smokey Eye With Nude Lips for Medium Brown Skin Tone
I came across this gorgeous image of a model with smudgy smokey eyes and nude lips. The whole look evokes a very editorial yet effortless vibe. I was instantly inspired to recreate the look (in my own messy, easy way :D) and I discovered it’s actually really easy to do and requires very few products.
Step 1: Blend a neutral brown eyeshadow (or use bronzer) into the crease to add some depth and dimension to the eyes.
Step 2: Colour your eyelids in black eyeliner (I used Colourpop Creme Gel Liner in Swerve but really any creamy kohl / kajal eyeliner will do) until the crease. Don’t worry about being too perfect because everything will eventually be smudged and blended. Work on one eye at a time because eyeliners tend to dry down quickly.
Step 3: Take a fluffy eyeshadow crease brush and start blending out black eyeliner into the crease until you’re happy with the shape. Add some black or dark brown eyeshadow on top to set the eyeliner — you don’t have to be too precise with this.
Step 4: Line the upper lash line with black eyeliner (like how you would with liquid liner) and then use a smudge brush to slightly smudge the line, winging it towards the outside.
Step 5: Line the lower lash line with black eyeliner and smudge the line. Be as messy or precise as you like. Be sure to link it to the upper lash line on the outside so there are no gaps. Here’s a little hint to prevent the lower lash line from smudging further: add a little black or dark brown eyeshadow to set the lower lash line once you’re done smudging.
Step 6: Curl lashes and pile on the mascara on both upper and lower lashes.
Step 7: Use bronzer to add dimension and contour your face. Be sure to chisel out your cheekbones because that’s what helps achieve the editorial vibe.
Step 8: Take a pink / peach nude lipstick (I used Terracotta by L’Oreal) and rub it in a circle on the back of your hand, then using your fingers gently tap some on the apples of your cheeks and work blend upwards into the bronzer.

Step 9: Use the same nude lipsticks on your lips. Add a deep brown lip liner or mix in a brown lipstick, if you feel your face looks too washed out with only the nude lipstick.
